Day 1: Praise the Lord
As we enter into this time of prayer, let us spend time today praising and acknowledging Him as Sovereign LORD over all.
Praise…
Read the following Scripture and spend time praising God…
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted
as head over all.†• 1 Chronicles 29:11
Confession…
Read the Scripture and allow God to search your heart and mind…
“Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that
He will not hear you.†• Isaiah 59:1-2
Thanksgiving…
Read the Scripture and spend time thanking God for all He is doing in your life…
“I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes I will remember Your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all Your works
and consider all Your mighty deeds.†• Psalm 77:11-12
Petition…
- Pray that we will honor the LORD in all we do.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17 - Ask the LORD to help us be devoted to time in prayer.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” – Romans 12:12
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6
“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone…I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.” – 1 Timothy 2:1,8
- Ask God to increase our faith.
“If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!” – Luke 12:28
“The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’” – Luke 17:5“But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;” – James 1:6-7
- Ask God to strengthen us with the power of the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses.
“‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” Matthew 28:19-20
“‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’” – Acts 1:8
