2nd Week of Prayer: Day 5 – Believing God
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” – Malachi 3:10
DISCUSSION POINTS FOR YOUR FAMILY…
- Talk about the ways you “give” to God and others in your life. Do you truly trust God to provide for all your needs? Do you see yourself as the steward or the owner of God’s provision? – What would it look like to truly trust God with all of our resources and talents?
- What do you think God means when He says He will open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it?
PRAISE…
Spend time praising God for He is able.
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” – 2 Corinthians 9:8
CONFESSION…
Ask God to reveal any area of our life where we are not honoring Him.
“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” – Proverbs 3:9-10
THANKSGIVING…
Give thanks that we serve a God who can and does meet all of our needs.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19
PRAYER POINTS…
- Pray that we will trust God with everything we have because we believe His promises.
“…test Me in this,” Says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” – Malachi 3:10 - Pray that we would be generous in the giving of ourselves and our material possessions.
“Give generously to Him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.” – Deuteronomy 15:10 - Pray that we will wholeheartedly trust in God’s “immeasurably more than” provision for His work.
“They replied, Let us start rebuilding. So they began this good work.” – Nehemiah 2:18
