2nd Week of Prayer: Day 6 – Commit to the Lord
“…and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.” – Exodus 35:21
DISCUSSION POINTS FOR YOUR FAMILY…
- Discuss how to listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as He leads us in what we are to give to the building of His church.
- Talk about what God has done in our life as a result of faithful giving.
- God tells us that He will provide for our needs as we give faithfully to Him. According to Luke 6:38, how does God bless our giving?
PRAISE…
Praise God for His promises about faithful giving.
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” – Luke 6:38
CONFESSION…
Remember the master who we werve; confess areas you are not submitting to the Lord.
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:10-11
THANKSGIVING…
Thank God for His goodness in your life.
“Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice.” – Psalm 112:4-5
PRAYER POINTS…
- Pray that we will be committed to serving the Lord.
“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.” – Psalm 37:5-6 - Pray that God would give us agreement as a family about what our commitment will be for the building of His Church.
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus…” – Romans 15:5 - Pray that we will give God our best in everything we do.
“But just as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us – see that you also excel in this grace of giving.” – 2 Corinthians 8:7
