IMPACT: 2nd Week of Prayer
When God’s people pray…
Nothing moves the heart of God like His people praying in unity. We have enjoyed a focused season of prayer as a church family in the midst of launching our IMPACT Campaign. God has displayed His glory each week as we have met in prayer together on Saturday mornings in the Worship Center. God has demonstrated His pleasure through our willingness to participate in the online prayer chain. Our families have been united in prayer at home utilizing the prayer table-towers.
God has given us another track to run on this week through this prayer guide. Allow the prayer guide to bring honor to God as we strategically pray in unity this week. Spend time on each appropriate day praying through the content within the prayer guide. As we journey through the prayer guide personally and privately, know that we are connecting together as the family of God to pray about our involvement in the IMPACT Campaign.
“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jer 29:12-13 NIV.

Seeking the Heart of God
This is an exciting time in the life of Champion Forest Baptist Church. We have seen God moving in all generations of the Body to accomplish His purposes as we have sought Him and made ourselves available to Him.
As we approach the time of our commitment, we encourage all families to meet together daily to discuss and pray about your commitment to make an IMPACT for Him and for every generation. Consider scheduling a time on your family calendar each day this week to pray and seek God’s direction together. In Acts 4:24 the believers gathered together and raised their voices in prayer to God. The result was that all the believers were one in heart and mind. How much stronger would our families be if we were all of one heart and mind?
Each day there will be some discussion points for you and your family. We encourage you to include every generation, no matter their age, in this discussion and prayer time. Let us expect God to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine in the life of our family, His Church, the Nation, and the World.
Steps to a Powerful Week fo Prayer
- Commit to set apart time each day to seek the Lord using the prayer guide.
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Col. 4:2 - Spend time at the beginning of each prayer time praising God for who He is. Recognize who God is and that His character brings us humbly before the throne.
“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100 - Spend sufficient time silently before the Lord each prayer time asking God to search your heart and reveal to you any area of your life where you need to repent and submit fully to the LORD.
“Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.” Psalm 24:3-4 - Spend time each day thanking God. Ask Him to bring to mind all that He has done and is doing in your life and the life of the Church.
“Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thes. 5:16-18 - As we bring our requests to God, we will use His Word to guide our prayer points (petitions). When we pray in agreement with the Word of God, we are asking for His will to be done.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of Him.” – 1 John 5:14-15 - Finally, listen as God speaks and the Holy Spirit leads you. Be encouraged to write down what God is saying to you and spend time meditating on His word to you.
“Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong. Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.” – Ecclesiastes 5:1-2
